It's not going to win any awards for appearance, the the choice of foods is amazing. I tried the highly recommended chicken cutlet sandwich and it didn't disappoint. It's probably the best I've had anywhere. Despite what others have written here, I found the guys behind the counter and the cashiers neither rude nor disrespectful. I will certainly return.

Best chicken cutlet in midtown. Order the "plaza garden" with a fire cutlet (not that spicy). Solid portion size and reasonably priced. (Hero was $10.99). Only knock is ambience and decor could use an upgrade.

This place is fast. At breakfast, a line of cooks stand behind the counters waiting to take orders. Once given, they move with a speed and efficiency that would make Henry Ford blush. In mere moments, you can walk out with your breakfast paid for and in-hand. It is a sight--really, a blur--to behold. The food itself though...well, tastes like it was made in a hurry. Your breakfast is "assembled" more than "cooked" to order. I had a classic BEC with hot sauce. The roll was soft and the eggs were fine, but the cheese is not cooked onto the eggs. A slice is simply placed on top of the already prepared egg. The bacon was underwhelming--overcooked and crumbly to the point that it might have just been bacon bits, not actual slices. Still, this is midtown, breakfast is breakfast, and I will certainly be back here for it.

I never write reviews, but I felt like I needed to this time! This place seems like your typical hole in the wall deli - a place you'd go if you work around the corner etc. This deli is so much more! I have lived in NY my whole life and have been to delis in all 5 boroughs. This is by far my favorite BEC on a bagel that I have ever had. They do an outstanding job. Their chicken cutlet sandwiches are also worth a mention - the chicken is thin and crispy and so flavorful. Prices are great! 10/10 recommend.

I wanted a bagel and coffee. Lived up completely to "go into a midtown deli, ask for a bagel w/ cream cheese and nova salmon" and it will be light and chewy and as you hoped. Midtown - so midtown prices. But up to requirements.

I liked it, great Monte Cristo and cute little location next to traffic on Madison Avenue, if that's your thing. Public restrooms for customers a plus! They're not going the cleanest but hey it works when you gotta go!

coming here to get my udon fix since my other favorite deli went out of biz. I know, how can a deli with my patronage go under? It boggles the mind! best overall deli udon in the immediate upper 40's on the east side with decent mix of vegetables and soup. very good shrimp tempura.
